Australian-wide syndicate selects Detpa Grove’s star lot
Detpa Grove continued to cement itself as a leading White Suffolk stud in the country when it set an on-property ram price record of $60,000.
But the real proof in the Pipkorn family’s program was that a total of 30 stud rams sold to buyers in five states and averaged $9700, with 11 of the lots selling for $10,000 or more.
This was an increase from last year’s offering, where 20 rams sold to stud duties for an average of $4825.
Detpa Grove’s record White Suffolk ram goes to a five-state syndicate
A syndicate of seven sheep studs from five states has paid an on-property record price for a White Suffolk ram.
Detpa Grove stud co-principal David Pipkorn said the top price of $60,000 for Lot 70, DG240715, was an on-property record.
“His figures are set to lift any flock, wherever he is used,” Mr Pipkorn said.
High performance rams equal higher valued lambs at Detpa Grove
Lamb price records have been tumbling all winter, but it was Detpa Grove progeny which reached new highs earlier this year.
A pen of Detpa Grove sired White Suffolk lambs out of Merino ewes dressing an estimated 43kg sold to Thomas Foods International at the end of May for what was then a record $410/head.
Strong clearance and solid demand for Detpa Grove ewes
In testing seasonal conditions across much of the region, Detpa Grove White Suffolk has wrapped up its 13th Bi-Annual Mated Ewe Sale with a strong clearance and valuable support from both new and returning clients.
