35TH ANNUAL ON-PROPERTY SALE
A structurally outstanding and elite performance offering of 259 Detpa Grove White Suffolk rams & and ewes were offered by the Pipkorn family at their 35th annual on-property production sale at Jeparit, Victoria on Thursday 12th October.
The stud offered 69 stud ewes, 28 stud rams, 35 specially selected rams and 119 flock rams for competition, with 206 head finding new homes at auction. Stud rams sold to a $12,500 top, specially selected rams topped at $3250, flock rams topped at $2200, and stud ewes sold to a $2000 top.

34TH ANNUAL ON-PROPERTY SALE
Over 12 hours of continuous rain, on top of already wet ground failed to dampen the enthusiasm of stud and commercial buyers at the Pipkorn family’s 34th Annual Detpa Grove White Suffolk sale at Jeparit last Thursday (13th October).
The magnificent quality offering of 247 stud ewes, stud rams, specially selected rams and flock rams saw a 97% clearance at a $2539 average, twice topping at $32,000.

33RD ANNUAL ON-PROPERTY SALE
Strong demand from across the country drove the Detpa Grove White Suffolk sale to new highs once again last week.
The Jeparit stud achieved a 98 per cent clearance of all ewes and rams offered, selling 251 of 255 lots to a sale top of $24,000, and an overall average of $2395.

32ND ANNUAL ON-PROPERTY SALE
The 32nd annual Detpa Grove White Suffolk sale north of Nhill set new records through the auction with a near total clearance.
Stud principal David Pipkorn said he was overwhelmed by the support for the October 8 sale, which he described as a rock-solid result.

31ST ANNUAL ON-PROPERTY SALE
In a Spring selling season when stud sales have been notoriously sluggish at the best, it became apparent that many in the White Suffolk breed at least, had been waiting for this week and the Detpa Grove sale in particular.
Elders stud stock auctioneer Ross Milne stated in the introduction before the stud ram offering, “How does a stud with the reputation for quality that Detpa Grove has just keep improving, but they have.”

The genetic strength of the Detpa Grove White Suffolk flock cannot be questioned on the back of their many sale successes, particularly over the last two decades, and the repeatable breeding successes for clients.

28TH ANNUAL ON-PROPERTY SALE
A wise business saying is, “Quality always sells” and that was most certainly the case at Jeparit last Thursday when the Pipkorn family staged their 28th annual Detpa Grove White Suffolk sheep sale.
The quality in the 247 White Suffolk rams and ewes penned for buyer competition was exceptional. The 146 flock rams were as good as you could expect to see anywhere and the 36 stud rams and 65 stud ewes were just the cream on top. It almost sounds like a throwaway cliché when a stud principal says, “It’s the best draft we’ve ever had,” but in this case David Pipkorn’s statement was very believable and supported by many in attendance.

26TH ANNUAL ON-PROPERTY SALE
The twenty sixth annual Detpa Grove White Suffolk sale at Jeparit produced another great result for the Pipkorn family with a $7000 lift in top price to $23,000, their highest price since 2005 when they set the breed’s $36,000 auction record price.
In welcoming the crowd that included 64 registered bidders in attendance, plus connections via the Auctions Plus link, Elders auctioneer Ross Milne said, “The Pipkorn family keeps lifting the bar higher whether you are assessing on phenotype, or on the arithmetic. This is one of the best drafts I’ve ever had the pleasure to stand over.”

25TH ANNUAL ON-PROPERTY SALE
While the averages were back on last year’s exceptional Detpa Grove White Suffolk sale, the Pipkorn family still shone through with a very good sale result last week at Jeparit.
This was Ron and Barb, and David and Michelle Pipkorn’s 25th annual White Suffolk sheep sale and over that time, their Detpa Grove stud has continuously set the breed benchmarks for quality, performance and prices.
As Ross Milne, auctioneer for sale agents Elders said pre-sale “I wouldn’t have thought it possible that the Detpa Grove sheep quality could get any better, but when you inspect this offering, it is quite clear they have.”

24TH ANNUAL ON-PROPERTY SALE
The Pipkorn family’s Detpa Grove White Suffolk stud, Jeparit, Vic continues to be a Mecca for stud and commercial buyers seeking the White Suffolk breed’s elite genetics.
Sixty seven buyers from four states made attendance at the annual Detpa Grove production sale their priority, while there were 16 others following the sale and bidding through the Auctions Plus network. The weather was cold but the bidding was hot and by the sale’s end, 215 head of ewes and rams had grossed $345,650 at a $1608 average in an 81% clearance.

There was an iconic Australian movie from several years ago titled, “The Road to Nhill”. That would have been quite apt if re-run last week when buyers from several states again headed to the annual Detpa Grove White Suffolk sale between Nhill and Jeparit.
Based on results in the last decade the Pipkorn family’s Detpa Grove stud is an industry leading source of elite genetics in the breed. Seventy six successful bidders combined to produce a $312,000 gross for the 245 head of stud rams, stud ewes and flock rams for a wonderful $1,263 average.

21ST ANNUAL ON-PROPERTY SALE
There is probably little argument that the Pipkorn family’s Detpa Grove White Suffolk stud has been at, or very near the pinnacle of the meat sheep industry’s seedstock breeding in this country in recent years.
That status was reinforced in a large way last Thursday when the 21st annual Detpa Grove sale produced its best ever result. 244 head of magnificently bred and presented White Suffolk rams and ewes sold to a top of $20,000 and averaged $1,511.
